youth rhapsody

Just like that, leaving nothing behind
Just sharing with you
And so you realized that now is everything
The sadness going along the cheeks
Will only become a river of tears
And so we will become a pale ocean
Melting together...

Soon we will realize that that was everything
Soon we will remember the sadness going along the cheeks
Soon we will... soon we will...
We will melt together with all of you
Melt together...

the day ended at vivocity with old friends, aisha and zaki. dinner at aji hanabi with coffee at starbucks before heading home. i enjoyed the conversations and the setting of the restaurant. it was nice. on the other hand, as i pass by the store that he is working at, the heart was a little heavy because it appears to be a one-way feeling. i dread to realize but its quite obvious?

but.

its been quite a day. failed my ippt. again. disappointed because it was such a nice weather for a run. so instead i did a leisurely pace. most of my mind was concentrating on the timberland sale. reduan gave me a ride from the old police academy (after ippt) to jurong east for breakfast. mee rebus was fantastic. at imm, right beside the kopitiam stall beside the burger king. lawrence joined us for breakfast too. and brought me to the timberland sale.

i was having a jacket frenzy. thank goodness i decided not to buy 4 jackets. i mean. i can wait as long as i want, but it'll never snow in singapore. happy to get 1 weatherproof jacket and a long sleeve thing. its a sale. haiz.

after which lunch at chua chu kang lot 1 with an old friend. chris did my chinese astrology / birth chart thingie and i guess things seems a little clearer.

and then vivocitied. completing a few rounds of sudoku (beginners) on the ds lite while on the train to meet them.

i wish i'm on a holiday.

as a kid, i loved the series, but somehow never managed to actually watch the series in its entirety. I guess since it was mostly aired in Malaysia. and partly shown in Singapore's chinese channel, the then ch8.

47 animated tv series and 3 movies released.

quirky, very enjoyable series. about friendship, robots, life as a police officer.

like come on lor.

can't help it.

anyway. i got back home. thanks for the tickets. let's try and meet up again... satay perhaps? and after which i took the bus back to serene centre. as i've already decided much earlier today, that since i would be meeting [info]gentlegiantt around queensway in the afternoon, i might as well have gone down to take a look.

and as always, i guess it's been a lucky week with plenty of coincidences. i saw choon as i walked past the macdonald's. and i have to admit i thought i saw eric khoo there too~! i mean... how hard is it to not recognise him!!!

"like come on lor!" so i exclaimed as we passed this group of really yummy teenagers loitering around, as i tried to peer into the foot reflexology's shop front.

of course choon won't believe it and he was too engrossed to describe to me all about his magic: the gathering cards.

anyway. purchased the remaining 2 sets of this series. oh well... was hoping that the remaining two of this series was out as well. guess another month's wait won't hurt.

before you start thinking of how OLD you are on your upcoming birthday... hehehe...

props to [info]bluboi78 (hehe, have the feeling you did the same search as me and found that clip from here.)! ok i hope there's some memories thingie going on here and i think its pretty cool. to share some of the things that really bring them back. first for those who wanna know who is the lady who made it all possible... you have got to see this video stream, click here (opens in windows media player). its an interview that cctv3 gave to Araki Yumiko, the lead actress for the series. look at her~! she's so youthful looking~! and its so sweet to see her do a volley in the studio. haha... you gotta see it~! :: edited :: i've uploaded the video to youtube. you can take a look here.

oh there's also her flips and the UFO ball attacks!!! haha~!

click here for the opening sequence of the series. the determination on their faces, the endless trainings to better themselves. the friendships. the bonding. the spirit of the game. oh yes there are so many episodes that i was so moved by because... well you just immerse yourself into it.

oh... and the malay language dubbing and translation.

you can also say its the first japanese full length drama series i was hooked on (following which was Oshin, hehehe). during recess in the morning (it should be primary 6, since we started higher malay long before that) and our after school activity, included using the volleyball court and half the class (boys and girls) would be out there doing our own modified version of the game. since we can't flip and do the reverse spike.

while listening to the radio, they played this song. man that brought some memories. and was telling </a>[info] how they don't make hong kong flicks like they used to. i was a great fan of ghost / vampire movies made back then. and i was 7yrs old and those corny lines sure made a lot of sense to me. haha. rented the Mr Vampire series on dvd. catching some comic relief.

but that's not all. remember this tv series a couple years back? about 2 jap guys who lived part of their lives at the beach to take a break? yeah, Beach Boys, the one with that bad boy look yutaka. anyway, on one of the episodes, yutaka remarked to the other guy that in their younger days, they watched the kamen riders. and that reminded me about these cool superheroes )~!!!

a little crazy / always a first

+ )

its another... wierd day. perhaps. grocery shopping with mom in the morning. discovered that they've done some nice changes to bukit panjang plaza. it now almost resemble any other neighbourhood shopping centre. wow. news of the day.

ok, that's not really it.

remember how everyone have their first time? first sex. first fag. first smack on the head with a tennis ball. first 3-pointer shot at the court. first toto or 4D strike. first sex. and the thing about having great sex is to treat every attempt as a very passionate first sex. almost like a virgin touched for the very first time hehe. but thats for another day's topic.

today. i had my first. my first time to watch a movie by myself.

at the turn of the century, and being a little more than 2 decades old. i've never been to a cinema alone. not until this afternoon. eversince i can remember. up till today, all the movies that i've been to, i've been with someone. at least someone. be it my sis. my bro. or both of them when i was still a school-going teen. with my friends. with my NS buddies. with colleagues. with a total stranger i've met on the net.

with the ex.

i guess i have always feared going to the cinema alone. the underlying factor is being alone. in a big cinema. in the dark. when other people around u are coupling or sitting with friends laughing or whispering some things. which also annoys me greatly to hear all those giggly whispers. the very auntie chit chats. the parents with the kid who just could not shut the f#^@ up. oh well... god will have his way with such people.

so there. i watced aeon flux by myself yesterday afternoon, or this afternoon (however you see it) at westmall. oh. i have to admit i kinda like trevor goodchild in this version of aeon flux. mmm. yum.

having watched the MTV animated version. the comics. and now the movie. i guess aeon flux to me is quite complete. the questions were answered. some new ideas surfaced.

and dinner )

one of the songs stuck on me lately.

Itsumo sasaetekureru hitotachi ni
Higoro no omoi wo kometa rhapsody
Appreciations na kimochi yo todoke
Itsumo arigatou honto arigatou
Tatoe doko ni itatte kimi no sonzai ni kanshashiteru yo

To the people who have always supported me
I've put you in my rhapsody of everyday thoughts
I hope my feelings of appreciations will reach you
Thank you as always. Really, thank you
No matter where you are I'll always be thankful you exist

Tasogare no machi ga akaku somaru koro
Nanigenaku michi wo aruiteita
Ikikau hito no mure ga masu gogo
Nantonaku tachidomattemita
Potsuri to aita kokoro no sukima
Umeruyouni ugoita keitai no mana-
Kimi wa hitori ja nai hora mina
Tagai ni sasaeatteku no sa

When twilight stains the town red I walked around casually
The number of people coming and going increase around noon
So I tried standing still one way or the other
As if being burried, little by little
Manners were moving, being carried into the gap in my heart
You're not alone. C'mon everyone
Let's support each other together )

they have a very nice ending sequence. the kind you'd stick to watch.
where the camera pans around a real school while playing the theme song.

although the comics themselves was not a letdown... still these 3 installments did not reach my expectations. and they never portrayed enough of the cars. i'd still want to complete the series though. i guess they complement the short movies very nicely.

bmw film - the hire, since this entry: #1 #2 #3

aeon flux, the comics - aeon flux, the movie. i've downloaded the entire cartoon version before, a year or so back. but when that hard disk failed, a lot of things disappeared along with the late hard disk. sadly. so, maybe i ought to search around again. but i hate searching. its tiring.
